Natural Treatments for Hair Loss

One hair loss myth is that all hair loss is permanent. To be honest, it is not. When the reason is nutrient deficiency or stress. For instance, the hair loss is generally temporary. In such events, hair growth can be favoured by addressing the underlying problems: working to build up the body’s stores of zinc, boosting iron levels and better conducting stress though experts note that it may take hereditary months to see progress.

Genetic hair loss, on the other hand, is largely permanent, as is any type of hair loss triggered by scarring on the scalp. Scarring can be caused by chemical hair styling services or too-tight pony tails, a problem with many African American women who are hair fall sufferers.Scarring can also be triggered by some autoimmune disorders.

Women with genetic or autoimmune related hair loss “have very few options” for hair regrowth. Argan Rain helps maintain existing hair and promotes regrowth.

Many men shy away from taking shampoo which contain chemicals, however, because of the possibility of sexual side effects, including loss of libido. And, more recently, studies have shown that those side effects may persist after discontinuation of the medicine. But Arganrain is the best natural treatment for hair loss...

Some Myths About Baldness

Recent research suggests that the most common type of hair loss, male pattern baldness, can be triggered by faulty hair-making progenitor cells in the scalp. Researchers long believed that men whose hair progressively thins—starting with a receding hairline, and then stretching to the crown—lacked a sufficient number of these cells. Rather, it appears that the cells are merely unable to complete their normal development and mature to a fully-functioning state. That finding, published last month in theJournal of Clinical Investigation, could help researchers develop a treatment that reactivates and restores the malfunctioning cells.

Myth: Hair loss is passed down from your mother's side.

Not entirely true. While the primary baldness gene is on the X chromosome, which men get only from their mothers, other factors are also in play. The hereditary factor is slightly more dominant on the woman's side, but research suggests that men who have a bald father are more likely to develop male pattern baldness than those who don't.

Myth: If you're balding, you're old.

On the contrary, hair loss can strike in the teens and is common among 20- and 30-year-olds. The earlier it begins, the more severe it will likely become.

Myth: Wearing a hat strains hair follicles, causing hair to fall out.

Good news for men who rely on caps to cover their shiny crowns: They're not causing any harm. Dirty hats can, however, lead to a scalp infection, which in turn accelerates hair loss, so either make sure yours is clean or rotate frequently.

Myth: Trauma can cause hair loss.

True—with a catch. Physical or emotional stress "will never cause you to lose hair you wouldn't have lost anyway. "If the hair is not meant to be lost, it will grow back." That said, it can accelerate balding. Rapid shifts in weight—whether pounds are gained or lost—can also contribute to the likelihood of hair loss.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR

Maintaining your hair is relatively easy with the right kind of steps. Hair is made of protein, so keeping a healthy diet and good hygiene is an essential part of maintaining luscious locks. At the same time, here are some other tips about hair care, and what you can do at home to get unbelievably beautiful hair.
 http://www.arganrain.net/

Wash hair sparingly with a good-quality shampoo
Many people insist that washing hair too often can leave hair dried out, leeched of its natural oils, and damage your hair. Shoot to shampoo your hair at most every other day. Some people wash their hair only twice a week.
  • Try shampoos that do not contain sulfates or parabens. Sulfates are the chemicals that make shampoos lather up. Parabens are preservatives that cause irritation and eye problems after prolonged use. Both of these chemicals aren't healthy for you or the environment so try to use shampoos with natural cleansers.
  • Choose a shampoo that suits your hair type. Don't just go for any old shampoo; go for the shampoo that works for you!
  • Curly or coarse hair probably wants frizz-minimizing and softening shampoo.
  • Straight or oily hair probably wants a gentle shampoo designed for daily washing.
  • Colored or treated hair probably needs a shampoo that's fortified with extracts or amino acids, because treating your hair is essentially damaging it.
  • Dry hair probably needs shampoos with glycerin and collagen to help restore some moisture into the hair.

Use conditioner depending on your hair type, length, and treatment damage
A good rule of thumb is to condition every time you shampoo your hair, although very processed or dyed hair probably needs a little more love than natural hair.
  • Deep condition  once a week. Use a store-bought product, or venture out on your own and try a homemade solution.
  • Follow these steps for conditioning your hair properly based on hair type:
  • For fine hair: If you have very limp hair, try a botanical oil treatment before you shampoo. Use lavender or tea-tree oil, for example, and work it under your cuticles before shampooing. Wash shampoo away and apply conditioner from the mid-shaft down to the end. Leave in for a minute before washing
  • For medium to thick hair, use a moisturizer with natural hydrators. Keep your conditioner light. Apply conditioner all over your head and let stay for 2-3 minutes.
  • Be careful about using products with too much protein. Too much protein can leave your hair feeling desiccated and brittle. While protein is the building block of healthy hair, use conditioners that come with balanced ingredients.
  • Frizz-control serum can be used in small quantities to tame frizzes. Make sure you do not use too much, and wash once a week with a deep-cleanse shampoo to avoid build-up, which will leave hair looking dull and flaky.

Don't brush your hair too much

One more surprising habit of people with beautiful hair is their reluctance to use a brush. Many women (and men) prefer only using a natural-fiber comb to detangle hair immediately after showering, and only then taking one pass through.
  • Brushing or stimulating the scalp can pull hairs from the follicles, create split-ends, and create irritation. Contrary to the old wives' tale, giving your scalp a massage or 100 brushes a day will not stimulate hair growth.

Let hair dry naturally
After you get out of the shower, give your hair a quick pat-down, squeezing the hair gently between the towel. Do NOT rub the hair, this can weaken the follicle and make the hair brittle and dull. Afterwards, give your hair a quick brush-through to get rid of tangles and let your hair dry naturally.

  • Try not to use a blow-drier. Healthy hair does not respond well to heat. Hair can sustain heat damage easily, especially from blow-driers. If you have to use a blow-drier, dry your hair using the lowest-temperature setting and limit usage to once a week.
  • If you shower before you sleep overnight, put your hair up in a bun and let it air-dry overnight. Your hair should be dry in the morning.

Eat healthy and give your hair the right amount of vitamins
Since hair is made of proteins, make sure that you eat a balanced diet rich in lean protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. A healthy diet will ensure better-looking, better-feeling hair.
  • Make sure you get plenty of vitamin C (strengthens hair), iron (helps transport oxygen to blood vessels), zinc (grows and repairs tissue), and omega-3 fatty acids (grows healthy hair).
  • Give your hair some time to show new brilliance. What you eat will not have an immediate difference on the hair you already have, but it will help with hair that is newly growing

SULFATE, SILICON, ALCOHOL, NACL FREE HERBAL NEW ANTI HAIR LOSS SHAMPOO ARGANRain

Hair loss is a very a common problem in fact, it affects not only men but also women and children. While hair loss in men is commonly related to balding, other times, it can be a result of poor diet and lifestyle choice. The most common cause for hair loss, however,is a prolonged illness, such as typhoid or jaundice, which can result in sudden and excessive hair loss.In many cases, it could also be due to an imbalance in the hormones, for example, if your thyroid gland is not functioning properly, you may experience sudden hair loss. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can also result in hair loss in some women. Apart from these, hair loss is also a side effect of certain medicines.Fungal infections of the scalp can also be a cause for hair loss.

Cycles of growth

Our hair growth is identified to be following three phases during its life, namely anagen, catagen and telogen. Anagen is the phase that lasts from two to five years and this growth phase is terminated by extreme interruption between hair shaft and nourishing papilla. This interruption lasts only for a few days and is called the Catagen Phase. The next three months the hair rests and this period of resting is called Telogen Phase. After this resting period, the hair falls and in its place a new hair growth cycle begins.

Causes of Hair Loss

The primary cause of loss of hair lies in the genes, the genetic endowment and is irreversible. There is also loss of hair due to the Chemo therapy, treatment of infection by ingesting chemicals or drugs into ones biological systems. The other supplementary factors are stress, poor diet and personal hygiene, physical illness, environmental issues like pollution etc. Lets see each one of the causes in some more detail.

Genetics

We all carry genes from our parents in equal proportion. If anyone of our ancestors has had permanent hair loss it is carried forward to our lives also and hence irreversible. This is called Patterned Baldness, more pronounced in males and hence the common Male Patterned Baldness or MPB.

Male Pattern Baldness

This legacy that one inherits is most common in young males but also known to affect the middle aged people. Early detection is important and to date there is no known medical cure to this ailment. Good scalp cleaning and nourishing is important. Generally speaking, around twenty five percent of men under 30 years of age and sixty six percent of them over 40 years of age experience male patterned baldness. It starts the process by thinning the top of the head or the hairline and recedes further towards the crown. In some cases the loss is more pronounced around the crown.

Pregnancy and related issues

The hormonal status undergoes marked changes during pregnancy and some of these lead to growth of hair. This is due to the fact that the Anagen phase of growth is more prolonged. However, after delivery the hormonal balance is restored to its erstwhile levels and the prolonged Anogen phase is induced into Telogen phase after completion of which the hair is lost. Therefore when a woman loses large amount of hair after about three months of delivery, there is no need to panic. This loss is temporary and after a month or so it will return to normal levels, new hair follicles replacing the old ones. A similar situation is true in the cases of abortion and when under treatment with female sex hormones or with the contraceptive pills and the treatment is suddenly withdrawn.

Fever and Other General Illnesses

A typhoid patient, after passage of about three months after the fever, tends to lose excessive hair. High fever due to other causes such as dengue, viral or low fever but prolonged as in tuberculosis or recurrent as in malaria can also lead to excessive hair loss.

 Emotional Stress

Emotional stress can also lead to hair loss irrespective of the factor related to the stress. The factors can be as varied as work place, exam phobia, love affair, marital discord or of losing near and dear ones the hair is induced in to the telogen phase prematurely.

Excessive Dieting

Hair shaft is nothing but a protein called Keratin; hence diet is very important factor in the growth of hair. In order to reduce their weight, people tend to do heavy dieting and this can lead to excessive hair loss. A proper and healthy diet is very essential for healthy hairline. Hair loss due to dieting is not seen if the process of diet control is slow.

Accidents and Injuries

It is observed that some persons lose excessive hair due to accidents.
Anemia :Chronic anemia is also a cause of excessive hair loss. This anemia can be because of deficiency in iron or due to frequent loss of blood.

Drugs

It is a misnomer that use of antibiotic leads to hair loss whereas the disease itself can be a cause for hair loss for which the antibiotics have been provided. But there are certain drugs mainly used for treatment of cancer or immune system, which can lead to excessive hair loss, and hair regrows the moment the use of drug has been stopped.

Mechanism of Genetic Hair Loss in Women

As with loss of hair in men, women genetic hair fall largely stems from a complex stew of genes, hormones and age. However, in female there are even more players. In addition to 5-a reductase, testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT); which are also found in men’s hair loss; also current in women are the enzyme aromatase and the women hormones estrone and estradiol. So let’s break down the process that leads to common hair shedding in women.

In both men and women, 5-a reductase reacts with testosterone to produce DHT, the hormone responsible for the shrinking and gradual disappearance of concerned hair follicles. This explains why both men and women lose their hair. But one of this reasons why women rarely have the conspicuous bald areas that men do is because women naturally have only half the amount of 5-a reductase compared to men.

Adding to this complexity, in women, the enzyme aromatase is responsible for the formation of the women hormones, estrone and estradiol, counteract the action of DHT. Female have higher levels of aromatase than men, especially at the frontal hairline. It is this existence of aromatase which may help explain why hair loss in women looks so different than in men, particularly with respect to the preservation of the frontal hairline. It may also explain why women have a poor response to the drug finasteride (Propecia), a medication widely used to treat hair loss in men that works by blocking the formation of DHT.

The following is a schematic graph of how the female hormones estrone and estradiol are produced and their relationship to DHT:

What vitamins are good for hair loss?

http://arganrainproducts.com/
A good daily multivitamin containing zinc, vitamin B, folate, iron, and calcium is a reasonable choice, although there is no good indication that vitamins have any important benefit in alopecia. Newer studies suggest that vitamin D may be somewhat accessible and worth considering. Specific vitamin and mineral deficiencies like iron or vitamin B12 may be determined by blood tests and treated.

Multiple vitamins, including biotin, have been advocated for hair growth, but solid scientific studies for many of these claims are lacking. While taking biotin and other supplements marketed for hair, skin, and nails probably won't worsen anything, it may also not necessarily help the situation. Therefore, advertised hair-regrowth supplements should be approached with mild caution.
http://www.arganrain.net/
Can itchy scalp cause hair loss?

Itchy scalp may cause mild, reversible hair loss. Causes may include seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff). Treatments may consist of medicated shampoos like ketoconazole (Nizoral), OTC dandruff shampoos and topical steroid creams and lotions to help decrease itching.

How do people prevent hair loss?

Hair-loss prevention involves several factors depending on the underlying cause. Good hair hygiene with regular shampooing is a basic step, but is probably of little benefit. Good nutrition, especially acceptable levels of iron and vitamin B, is helpful. Treatment of underlying medical conditions like thyroid disease, anemia, and hormonal imbalances may useful in prevention.

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT MY BABY'S HAIR LOSS ?

There's nothing you can do about newborn hair loss related to hormone levels except look forward seeing your baby's new 'do.

If the bald spot is the result of your baby spending too much time in the same position, try alternating the way your baby sleeps during naps and at night. If you usually put him to sleep on his back with his head at one end of the crib, try putting him down with his head at the other end every other night. Your baby will naturally turn his head to the side to look out of the crib, so he'll be resting on a different part of his head.

If you have a sleep wedge to keep your baby from flipping over onto his stomach, you can try putting him to sleep on his left side, the next night on his back, and then the next on his right side.

Also make sure your baby spends some time on his tummy every day. In addition to giving the back of his head a break, tummy time is essential for your baby's overall physical developmentMention your baby's hair loss to his doctor, especially after your baby's half birthday. Chances are the hair loss is normal, but his doctor can make sure that there isn't an underlying medical condition and help with treatment if there happens to be a problem. If your child has ringworm, for example, she'll prescribe an antifungal medication.

If the doctor suspects alopecia areata, she may refer you to a dermatologist for further evaluation. (Some children simply outgrow alopecia areata without treatment. Others -  usually older children — receive medication to stimulate hair growth.)

If your baby's hair loss is due to breakage, you'll just have to treat his hair and scalp tenderly for a while until it grows back. (Keep in mind that a baby's hair is finer and more delicate than an adult's. Opt for natural styles and brush gently.)

There are no guarantees, but in most cases a baby's hair loss is temporary. There's a good chance your child will sport a full head of hair within a year.

Any tips for an 18-yr old male with hair loss?

It started at age 16, I thought it was initially due to use of hair-gel, but now I don't use gel anymore but I still have the hair-loss problem increasing on the temple of my head. Hair falls off easily sometimes while combing and after showers.... Also I sweat easily on that part of my head. Please, do you have any tips of any natural oils or supplements I may take?

ANSWER :

Hello,

The use of hair gel, as well as, showering are not reasons why you are experiencing hair loss. It could be
